After quarterback Drew Lock joined the Giants recently, Seahawks General Manager John Schneider hinted that Lock might be competing for the starting position.
However, Lock contradicted this idea during a press conference. He mentioned that he was informed Daniel Jones is the top quarterback, and Lock is the backup.
Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Lock’s statement during an interview at the league meetings. Daboll mentioned that Lock knows his role, and once Jones recovers from his ACL injury, he will resume his position as the main quarterback.
Daboll also mentioned that Lock will have plenty of practice opportunities to learn the team’s system during the spring. Despite Lock’s potential to play at some point in the 2024 season, Jones will have the opportunity to lead the team before that happens.
