The chance for Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers to be cleared from the concussion protocol before the game against the Bengals on Sunday night is becoming less likely.
Nabers did not practice on Wednesday, and the rehab work he did has not helped him get closer to playing again. Head coach Brian Daboll informed reporters on Thursday that Nabers is in the “same spot” as the day before.
To be cleared from the protocol, Nabers needs to participate in practice without showing any symptoms, so Friday’s practice will be his last opportunity to do this before the team decides who will play against the Bengals.
In the first four weeks of the season, Nabers had 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns. However, the positive news for the Giants is that their offense performed well in last Sunday’s victory against the Seahawks.
