Bronny James struggled with his shooting once again on Monday, making just 1 out of 5 attempts in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 88-74 loss to the Boston Celtics at the NBA Summer League.
James played for 25 minutes, scoring two points, grabbing three rebounds, and providing one assist. He missed all three of his 3-point attempts, making his summer record 0 for 15 from beyond the arc over four games—two in Las Vegas and two in the California Classic in San Francisco.
As the son of LeBron James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, Bronny has shot 23% overall this summer, averaging 4.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
Drafted 55th overall last month, Bronny signed a four-year contract with the Lakers, who have emphasized his development in their program. If he and LeBron play together, they would be the first father-son duo to do so simultaneously in NBA history.
Bronny played one season of college basketball at USC, averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. He missed the start of the season due to a procedure to address a congenital heart defect discovered after he experienced cardiac arrest during a summer workout last year.
