Contrary to expectations, Mike Evans won’t become a free agent. The Buccaneers have reached an agreement with Evans, securing his stay with the team for two more years, as reported by multiple sources.
The contract is valued at $52 million, with $35 million guaranteed.
Selected as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2014 draft, Evans has remained a fixture with the Buccaneers throughout his career, culminating in a Super Bowl victory in the 2020 season.
He has consistently surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his 10 seasons and earned Pro Bowl honors five times along with two second-team All-Pro selections.
In the 2023 season, Evans showcased his prowess with 79 receptions for 1,255 yards and a league-leading 13 touchdowns. His impact continued into the postseason, where he contributed 11 catches for 195 yards and a touchdown across two games.
With Evans secured, the Buccaneers can now focus on re-signing pending free-agent quarterback Baker Mayfield.
