The 2024 Pro Bowl Skills Showdown started on Thursday night, featuring members of the NFC and AFC teams engaging in various competitions to earn points for their respective conferences.
The challenges included Precision Passing, High Stakes, Closest to the Pin, Snap Shots, and Dodgeball.
The event began with Precision Passing, where each quarterback showcased their accuracy. Baker Mayfield and C.J. Stroud advanced to the final round, with Mayfield winning and securing three points for the NFC.
The next challenge was the High Stakes, where players aimed to catch the most punts in a row without dropping the ball. Miles Killebrew of the Pittsburgh Steelers helped the AFC tie the overall score at 3-3.
In the Closest to the Pin competition, six players battled in a golf accuracy challenge, with Bryan Anger of the Dallas Cowboys helping the NFC take the lead 6-3.
Snap Shots followed, as long snappers and centers tested their accuracy. Andrew DePaola of the Minnesota Vikings scored nine points, giving the NFC a victory. Heading into the final contest, the NFC led 9-3.
The last challenge of the day was the dodgeball tournament, featuring teams of offensive and defensive players from both conferences. The AFC offense won the opening game, while the NFC offense secured victory in the second game.
The NFC currently leads 12-6 over the AFC, with the Pro Bowl flag football game scheduled for Sunday, coached by Peyton Manning for the AFC and Eli Manning for the NFC. Coverage starts at 3 p.m. ET.
