The Buffalo Bills activated eight-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Von Miller on Saturday after a four-game suspension, making him eligible to play in the team’s home game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
Miller, who is 35, missed four games due to a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Although the league did not disclose the specifics of the suspension, Miller was arrested last November on a domestic violence charge. He turned himself in to police in the Dallas area after an arrest warrant was issued related to an incident involving his pregnant girlfriend.
He was wanted for third-degree felony assault, but no charges were filed, and Miller has consistently claimed he is innocent. Police responded to a report of a “major disturbance” at their home on the morning of November 29.
Miller was allowed to continue playing while the investigation was ongoing.
A seven-time All-Pro, including three selections to the first team, and a two-time Super Bowl champion, Miller recorded three sacks in Buffalo’s first four games this season while coming off the bench.
The Bills also announced they have promoted wide receiver Jalen Virgil and defensive tackle Eli Ankou from the practice squad.
Virgil, who is 26, has two career receptions in 10 games.
Ankou, who is 30, has played in 35 games over eight seasons and has recorded 2.5 sacks. The Dolphins elevated defensive tackle Neil Farrell and long snapper Matt Overton for the game.
