Rayan Ait-Nouri stopped Burnley from getting a much-needed win as Wolverhampton fought back to draw 1-1 in the Premier League on Tuesday.
Jacob Bruun Larsen scored the first goal for Burnley in the 37th minute at Turf Moor. But just before the end of the first half, Ait-Nouri scored for Wolves, making it his third goal in four games.
Vincent Kompany’s team tried hard to get another goal that would bring them closer to Luton, who are currently in 18th place. But they ended up with a draw, which made their situation worse after Nottingham Forest won 3-1 against Fulham.
Even though Burnley hasn’t lost a game in the last four matches, they are still in second-to-last place, now six points behind Forest in 17th. Luton has one game left to play.
Larsen, who is on loan from Hoffenheim, scored the first goal by volleying Dara O’Shea’s pass into the far corner past Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa. Wolves equalized just before the end of the first half when Ait-Nouri scored with a header from Pablo Sarabia’s free kick.
Before the game, some Burnley fans had to leave one part of the stadium because there was a piece of metal hanging from the roof.
