Caitlin Clark is all set to make her highly anticipated debut in the WNBA on Tuesday night in Connecticut. After an impressive college career at Iowa, where she set records, Clark is excited to finally step onto the WNBA stage.
“This is what you’ve been working towards and dreaming about. Finally, you get to wear your jersey for a real game and hit the court,” Clark expressed.
“We’re playing on a big stage, with lots of people and noise. But you only have one first WNBA game, so I just want to savor it. It’s going to be tough competition. They’re really good, so we need to prepare well. Above all, we’re ready for the challenge.”
Even before her first WNBA game, Clark has made waves in the league. The draft drew record viewership, and her Indiana Fever jerseys are selling rapidly.
Three WNBA teams have already moved their games to larger venues to accommodate the demand for tickets to see her play.
Her debut game in Connecticut is completely sold out — the first time the Sun have had a sellout season opener since they moved from Orlando and played their inaugural game at Mohegan Sun Arena in 2003.
