On Thursday, during the January Premier Auction at PWCC Marketplace, a 2022 Bowman University Superfractor Caitlin Clark Rookie Auto card fetched an impressive $78,000.
The bidding session extended over an hour past the original closing time, setting a new record for the highest-selling women’s basketball card. The only female athlete with a trading card that commanded a higher price is Serena Williams.
The Collectibles Guru, @ericwhiteback, excitedly reported the event as a RECORD AUCTION. The bidding for the Caitlin Clark 1/1 Superfractor auto reached $66,000, solidifying Clark’s position as the woman with the second-most expensive sports card sale of all time.

“Topps left no stone unturned in highlighting Caitlin Clark’s remarkable achievements in her Iowa career,” the card’s description stated. “With three USA Women’s Basketball team gold medals to her name, this Bowman U card serves as a reminder to fans that the fearless point guard is on track to accumulate Michael Jordan-like hardware.”
The prior record for a women’s basketball card was held by a 2004 Ultra Platinum Medallion Diana Taurasi card, which sold for $11,500 earlier in the year.
Notably, a few months prior, Sabrina Ionescu’s 2020 Panini Prizm WNBA Black Gold rookie card, representing the first time a women’s basketball card reached a five-figure auction sale, fetched $10,800.
As the reigning women’s National Player of the Year, Caitlin Clark has already etched her name in college basketball history with one of the most exceptional careers.
This season, the Iowa star claimed the title of the Big Ten’s career assists leader, and she stands less than 200 points away from breaking Kelsey Plum’s NCAA scoring record.
With Clark’s ongoing efforts to lead the No. 5 Hawkeyes (18-2) to a national championship and her anticipated position as the top pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, it is evident that the value of her trading cards will continue to ascend.
