Caleb Williams wasn’t too keen on talking about his vacation this week. The Chicago quarterback had work to focus on.

Williams was concentrating on the upcoming game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday.

The No. 1 overall draft pick mentioned he had visited Paris and Monaco, enjoying the sights and food while taking some time to relax. But when it comes to football, he said, “Let’s get back to ball.”

After his strong performance in last week’s win against Carolina, it makes sense that he was eager to get back on the field. The 2022 Heisman Trophy winner from Southern California had his best game yet.

Williams completed 20 of 29 passes for 304 yards, throwing two touchdowns to DJ Moore and no interceptions, leading Chicago to a 36-10 victory.

His passer rating of 126.2 was the highest for a Bears rookie since the AFL-NFL merger, surpassing Jim McMahon’s 121.1 against the Los Angeles Rams on December 26, 1982.

Williams faces another chance to shine against a struggling defense for the second week in a row. Jacksonville (1-4) ranks 31st in the league and last against the pass.

The Bears (3-2) are coming off their biggest win since they defeated the New York Giants 29-3 in Week 17 of the 2021 season. A win would give them three straight victories for the first time since late in the 2020 season, which ended with a win over Jacksonville.

If they beat the Jaguars this time, Chicago would be 4-2 at the bye, a significant achievement for a team aiming for a winning record for the first time since 2018.

“Getting a win out here and then going into the bye week happy is a must,” Moore said.

The Jaguars are looking to win back-to-back games after starting the season with four losses. They won against Indianapolis 37-34 last week.
