Carlos Alcaraz is close to winning his second consecutive Wimbledon title.

Alcaraz leads Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2 in the men’s final on Centre Court after breaking Djokovic’s serve twice in each set.

This final is a rematch from last year when Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in a five-set match.

Kate, the Princess of Wales, was seated in the Royal Box at Centre Court, making a rare public appearance since announcing her cancer diagnosis.

Djokovic, aged 37, aims to secure his eighth Wimbledon title to match Roger Federer’s record for the most by a male player at this prestigious grass-court tournament. A victory would also give Djokovic 25 Grand Slam singles titles, surpassing any other player in tennis history.

Novak Djokovic plays a backhand in the match

Just over a month ago, Djokovic underwent surgery for a torn meniscus in his right knee, an injury sustained during the French Open.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Alcaraz won the Roland Garros trophy in June, marking his third major championship. This achievement made him the youngest male player to win a Grand Slam title on grass, clay, and hard courts.

In the Wimbledon women’s final on Saturday, Barbora Krejcikova defeated Jasmine Paolini.
