Jalen Carter and the Eagles’ Defense Played Amazing and Kept the Buccaneers to Just 174 Yards in their Win on Monday Night

Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a happy start to the season for two weeks. But then the best team in the NFC, the champions, came to play against them.

Thanks to Jalen Carter, who is becoming a star in the middle of the defense, the Philadelphia Eagles’ defense was very strong. They played so well that the Buccaneers were able to get only 174 yards in the whole game, and the Eagles won 25-11 on Monday night.

Jalen Carter and the Eagles' Defense Played Amazing and Kept the Buccaneers to Just 174 Yards in their Win on Monday Night
Jalen Carter

“This defense is great,” Carter said in his team record. “I love defense. Everybody trusts each other. Everybody does their part and does what they’re supposed to do. And when one guy goes down, it’s the next guy up, so the next one. I don’t worry about who people are.” We trust him as much as we trust a starting pitcher in a game. I love this defense.

Carter, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was a beast for the Eagles, filling the stat sheet with two tackles for loss, half a sack, one quarterback hit, and two forced fumbles.

Philadelphia accomplished two things on Monday. The Eagles have forced eight turnovers so far this season, forcing several turnovers in each game, the only NFL team to do so. They provided safety as Carter and Nicholas Morrow broke through the line and wiped out Rashard White on a carry that only went backward.

What was most impressive was the Philadelphia front’s ability to completely suppress the Buccaneers’ running game, which was already struggling. Tampa Bay had just 41 yards, as well as one first down on the ground after 17 carries.

When Bucs head coach Todd Bowles was asked to comment on the running game, he summed up his team’s struggles with his usual candor. “We didn’t have that,” he said. “I mean, it’s just… we’re not going to sit here and let anything surface. We own what we have.”

We Hired Coach Sean Because We Believed in Him Too

Mayfield followed up his 317-yard performance in Week 2 with 146 yards and his first interception of the season, his first 300-yard game since Week 5 of 2021, and his passing was no mean feat. “I mean, they’re really good defensively,” Mayfield said. “They’re on the front lines. I mean, they’re incredible.”

We Hired Coach Sean Because We Believed in Him Too
Coach Sean

The Eagles have not allowed more than 76 rushing yards in a game this season. They still cause a lot of variation and confusion. After a season in which they played in the Super Bowl, they replaced Jonathan Gannon with Sean Desai as their defensive coordinator, and so far, they haven’t missed a single mistake.

It’s a fundamental approach, according to Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, that continues to lead the way.

“I believe in our defense, and we hired Coach Sean because we believed in him too. He’s been doing a great job. What we’re doing really well is playing with the right basics and being tough on the field.

This works in all levels of football, from Pee Wee to the pros. We’re good at tackling, and that’s because we focus on the basics. Both the coaches and players have worked hard on these basics after each practice.”

Playing very good at the basics might not sound very good, but it helps a lot. The Eagles are showing everyone how important the basics are, like having lots of good players on the team and being very strong on defense. That is why they have won all three of their games, and their defense is a big part of it.

Joe Burrow’s Return From Injury And What Lays Ahead For The Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals have had a rough start to the 2023 NFL season, having lost their opening two encounters before emerging victorious against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Bengals are now bolstered by the return of quarterback Joe Burrow from a calf injury.

Burrow has gained the reputation of healing quickly after injuries, but his latest injury is different from the ones that plagued him earlier in his career.

Burrow, who has recovered from appendicitis and a torn ACL, is now coming back from a soft tissue injury to his calf, which is unchartered territory for both the player and the Bengals.

There is no fixed deadline for his return to full fitness, which is a cause for concern.

Soft tissue injuries need specialized care and treatment as they bring with them the chances of reinjury, which may hamper the Bengals in the long run if they rush Burrow’s return.

A Glimmer Of Hope

Speaking after the game on Monday, Burrow said, “We’re getting there. Every week will be better as long as there are no more setbacks.”

Having come off an injury, Burrow’s on-field performances still weren’t at the level he displayed at the Pro Bowl, but there were glimpses of it in the third quarter against a resolute Rams defense.

Burrow managed to complete an out-cut pass through a tight space, a difficult pass on the third down, as a play-action rollout, which led to a 43-yard completion by Chase.

The Bengals have games against the Titans and Cardinals. Both teams have shifted their rosters over the trade window, which may help in easing Burrow into full fitness.

The Bengals will be hoping to have a fully fit Burrow by mid-October and will be working towards the same.

Burrow’s Strength and Attitude

Bengals coach Zac Taylor spoke highly of Burrow’s attitude and toughness while acknowledging the skills Burrow brings that have led to the success of the Bengals in recent times.

Burrow, the younger brother of former Nebraska linebackers, brings with him the never-say-die attitude that his hometown is renowned for.

The Bengals franchise and fans will be hopeful for a fully fit Burrow to lead them to the title in the 2023 season.

About the Burrow’s Play

in spite of not being in a proper state to play, Burrow managed to help the Bengals (1-2)  and provided a good start. The Pro-bowl quarterback has shaken off the effects of a calf strain that kept Burrow’s availability in doubt till the game time. Burrow finished the game 26-49 in a season-high of 259 yards. He also threw a second interception this season.

Ja Marr chased with his 12 catches for 141 yards. The nine diverse Bengals team were the recipients of Burrow’s passes during the evening. The long catch was 43 yards that came during 3rd quarter drive. It led to a third of four field goals by McPherson.

Joe Burrow’s journey in NFL

He has led the Tigers team in the national championship. Joe was awarded the Heisman trophy. In 2020, he was picked as a first overall pick in the NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals Team. But his season was cut short due to a knee injury. In 2023, Joe Burrow’s journey in the NFL is like a full circle.

The Cincinnati Bengals team is the opposing team. In 2020-2022, he joined the Bengals team as the leader and playmaking ability. He had a connection with Ja’Marr Chase, which was the highlighted news of the season. Beyond the field also, he became a loving figure in the Cincinnati community.

The Cincinnati Bengals team’s defense was incredible in the game. Stafford was stacked twice by the defensive player Trey Hendrickson. Wilson intercepts once in every half-time, and Stafford finished 18 for 39 for 239 yards. The Rams also slipped into 1-2. Mixon carries 19 for 65 yards. The Cincinnati Bengals team’s possession in the second half went over to the left tackle. A seam to score was found from 14 yards.

The Ring of Honor

The former quarterback Boomer Esiason and receiver Chad Johnson were inducted into the Bengals team Ring of Honor at halftime in the match. Esiason played for the Bengals in 1984-92. Then again, in the final season of 1997. He was also elected to Pro Bowl 3 times and was NFL MVP in 1998.

Johnson was officially known as Chad Ochocinco from 2008-2011. He played in the Cincinnati Bengals team for ten seasons. Chad also got elected to 6 Pro Bowls. He is still part of the game. An all-leader in 751 receptions and received yards of 10,783 and TDs of 66. Rams OL Alaric Jackson left the match in between due to a thigh injury.  Joe Burrow also left the game in the third quarter.

The Taylor Swift effect: Travis Kelce Jersey Sales Spike to 400%, Chiefs TV Ratings Rise

After a couple of weeks of scattered rumors of a budding romance between Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, she showed up at a Chiefs game on Sunday. And everyone basically lost their minds over it.

A spokesperson for the apparel manufacturer told the Press that sales of Kelce’s jersey blew up on Sunday with “a nearly 400% spike in sales throughout the Fanatics network of sites, including NFLShop.com”.

After the game, Kelce did not speak to the media but was spotted leaving the stadium with Swift before the two drove away in a convertible.

Kelce’s move on Swift after months of courting

The dinner Kelce and Swift reportedly had came after months of courting by Kelce, who, after rumors began bubbling up that the two were dating, went on “The Pat McAfee Show” last week and revealed he had put the invitation out there.

“I threw the ball in her court and told her, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead. You might have to come to see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit,'” Kelce said.

This is just a normal love story that all rage about in the NFL. This got so famous that even famous Curmudgeon Bill Belnick had an opinion about the potential relationship.

TV Ratings spiked, the impact of Swift

Jersey was not the only thing to benefit from sales. Fox Sports announced on Tuesday that Sinday’s Chief got the highest rating of the week for any network, with 24.3 million views.

It made noticeable how much of an impact Swift had in terms of watching what was quickly a one-sided football game and a game where, in a number of markets, Fox turned away after a 34-0 halftime score.

In the aftermath of the 41-10 win over the Bears, Kelce had seen an increase in social media followers from 300,000 and a perfect bump in merch sales. Yes, Kelce now risks becoming someone to whom the future lyrics of a Taylor Swift song are devoted if the relationship ends poorly.

The first piece of tangible proof might come on Sunday night when plenty of youngsters otherwise disinterested in the NFL will be tuning in to see Kelce’s Chiefs play the Jets. It will make the ratings for the Rodgers-less game very revealing.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow Explained Why He Chose to Play on Monday, Saying, ‘there’s Also a Risk of Going Out there and Having Zero Wins

Joe Burrow played against his old team in the Lombardi Trophy, and his team won. But Joe had a hurt leg called a calf injury. Because of the hurt leg, he could not play as well as he normally does, even though he is really good at throwing the football.

Even though Joe Burrow did not play as beautifully as he normally does, he led the Cincinnati Bengals to win the game against the Los Angeles Rams. Sometimes, when you are hurt, you can still play and help your team win, and that is what Joe did.

“There is the risk of going out there and potentially getting hurt again, but there is also the risk of going out there and going 0-3,” Burrow said after the game. He said I was confident that I could do what I needed to do to win.”

Burrow, playing against the Rams for the first time since beating the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, was questionable for the night after aggravating a calf injury in Week 2. Most of the time, Barrow looked stiff, uncomfortable, and anxious and released quickly when pressure was applied.

After a 1-2 start, with the Bengals’ offense mostly struggling due to a calf injury, Burrow carried the load, completing 26 of 49 passes, no touchdowns, one interception, and a 59.8 rating was recorded.

Conventional wisdom for many experts was that the Bengals would rest their franchise QB to allow his problematic calf to heal to avoid the possibility of a long-term illness. But that was not the move for the Bengals and Burrow.

“We have been in good shape the last few days,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said. We felt like we were in a good position because we knew how this situation was going to turn out. ”

“I had a training session today, and I felt good enough to play. It felt good out there,” Burrow said. Barrow certainly was not particularly good-looking or lived up to the exceptional standards he set. Nevertheless, despite below-average performances, he achieved victories on two fronts.

Burrow won his first game with a passer rating below 80. He also escaped unscathed. He was at least not as bad as he was before the game against Aaron Donald and the Rams, getting sacked twice and taking six QB hits.

“I feel good,” Barrow said. “I did not have any setbacks today, but I still had setbacks every day. I have learned through this process that you can have setbacks at any time. “So it was good to get through this game. That is what I am going to get. Next week, I will be even stronger, so I hope I can train for a full week to prepare for next week.”

All was well on Monday, but Burrow’s health will once again be a major topic of conversation heading into Week 4’s road game against the Tennessee Titans. The other dilemma is whether the injured Burrow can perform after three below-average games.

Burrow has two games with a passer rating below 60 this season. He has never played a match like this in his career. He has only thrown two touchdowns in three games, but he has the same number of interceptions.

The Calf Changed His Game a Lot, But He Admitted It!

“We were pretty cautious about extending play,” he said. “He threw the ball away quickly. But we were able to get the job done. ”

Burrow and the Bengals got the job done Monday. Beyond Week 4, nothing remains to be seen as nothing has changed as of Monday about Cincinnati’s approach to its future QB1 and Wade.

Monday is Monday, tomorrow is a new day, and everyday life continues.

“I say that every day because that’s what we do,” Taylor said. “You never know for sure, and you just want an honest answer that he gave. And he went to the doctors, and they all agreed and felt good. And he went out and said, He gave a great performance…”Motitaru.”

Sean McVay; A Victim of his Own Rigid Tactics as Rams Face Defeat Against Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals earned a hard-fought victory against The Los Angeles Rams in a captivating contest that saw the scoreline read 19-16 after the full-time.

As the scoreline suggests, it was a battle of will between the two sides as the Bengals emerged victorious after converting their chances.

The Rams had ample an amount of instances to their advantage in the early minutes, but they failed to score a touchdown. Matthew Stafford, however, turned the ball over.

Cincinnati Bengals vs LA Rams
Cincinnati Bengals and LA Rams in action

The Bengals responded fiercely as they took a crucial lead in the second half. However, the Bengals’ defense was wayward in numerous instances, but the Rams seemed to be in no mood to punish them for each mistake.

Joe Burrow, despite not being a hundred percent when it comes to fitness, played a pivotal role in keeping his team in the game.

A Bittersweet Mixture of  an Efficient Defense but Ineffective Offense

Apart from the commendable efforts and sheer determination of the Rams’ defense line, there were other key moments crafted by the Rams team as well, especially the continuous kick by Brett Maher. He proved to be a potential asset for the Rams this season as a Kicker they can contribute when called upon.

In the nail-biting fourth quarter, the Bengals found themselves in a crucial fourth-and-one situation as Rams fans could already see clouds of despair hover over their heads for what would be a second consecutive loss of the season.

However, a twist followed as the Rams’ defense put some heroics on display for the crowd, intercepting Joe Burrow to instill hope in the hearts of Rams fans and other players alike.

Following the morale-boosting incident, the Rams were unable to find a fruitful outcome in attacking positions.

They relied on a uni-dimensional plan of passing continuously, and Coach Sean McVay’s persistent approach of refusing to run the ball proved detrimental to the team.

The Coach’s style of play was not suited for the intensity that the game contained. This strategic decision left the supporters and experts baffled and raised certain eyebrows around the sporting environment.

A talent like Kyren Williams was not given the freedom to run the ball after having been a crucial player for the Rams the whole season.

Even though pass and play tactics helped the Rams see much of the ball in their control, the struggle along the final third could not be overcome. It felt like a meaningless passage of play was left uninterrupted by the Bengals.
The Rams, at one point, stood at 0 for 6 in third down conversions, further dropping down to 0 for 10.

The Coach, however, stood by his plan, which ultimately killed any hope of a comeback despite the defense line working their socks off for the team.

It would be extremely harsh to put all the blame on the Coach for their loss, as the Rams’ offensive line did get certain chances that they couldn’t convert. There were a few debatable decisions made by the referees, too, but it’s still inappropriate to blame anyone but the chances missed by The Rams for being a catalyst in the reasons for their loss.

Justin Fields Optimistic About Bears’ Playoff Chances: “We Have 14 Opportunities Ahead”

Bears quarterback Justin Fields believes it is much too early to give up hope on the current season.

The 0-3 Bears are probably the most disappointing team in the NFL, but Fields stated after Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs that he isn’t giving up on the chance of participating in the playoffs.

Fields admitted that “I need to be better,” but after a difficult week in Chicago in which he felt the need to call a special press conference to clarify comments he’d made earlier about what’s going on with the team, he says he’s still grateful that he gets to pursue his dream of being an NFL quarterback.

“The Lions started 1-6 last year, and they almost made the playoffs,” Fields said. “We’ve got 14 left, at least.”

“I’m looking at it like the big picture, just life in general,” Fields said. “I think this past week has had me kind of look at it like, What are the important things in life? I think these past couple of weeks have made me appreciate the little things in life, like being able to play this game.

Every opportunity I get to go out there and play, I’m going to have fun. I’m going to play my hardest and just thank God for giving me the ability to play. So, no matter what the scoreboard is, I will keep to the same mindset and just push and keep moving forward.”

Sunday’s home fixture against the 0-3 Broncos may be an opportunity for the Bears to turn things around in their favor, although even coming off a 70-20 loss, the Broncos are still favored by 3.5 points for the game in Chicago.

France Aims to Expedite Antoine Dupont’s Comeback Using a Specialized Mask

France is exploring options to accelerate Antoine Dupont’s recovery in time so that he can participate in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals, according to reports.

In their dominant 96-0 victory over Namibia in their third Rugby World Cup match, Les Bleus’ skipper, Antoine Dupont, suffered a facial fracture.

Johan Deysel, the captain of Namibia, received a red card after making a head-on-head tackle with the scrum-half that stimulated criticism on social media.

As the availability of the French star for the rest of the tournament becomes uncertain, according to recent reports, additional steps are being taken to get him back in time for the quarterfinals.

Customized Mask in the Works

According to Midi Olympique, Antoine Dupont will consult a specialist to shape a mask that complies with World Rugby’s rules.

Unlike in football, Dupont will not be allowed to wear the plastic or carbon fiber facial guards, and any protective equipment must be constructed from cloth or strapping similar to the one worn by Imanol Harinordoquy during the 2010 Champions Cup semi-final.

Additionally, it can’t be more than 5mm thick when uncompressed.

According to World Rugby’s regulation 12.4 concerning prohibited clothing items, except for the specific clothing items listed in sections 1(a)-(f), 2, and 3, a player is not allowed to wear any clothing item that has any part thicker than 5mm when not compressed or is denser than 60 kilograms per cubic meter, unless it is explicitly permitted by Regulation 12 or Law 4.

Also Read: Former Wallaby Player Anticipates an Emotionally Significant Day as He Continues His Father’s Legacy

In the context of the overall thickness, it is specified that it comprises padded material tucked away beneath a fabric layer. In this configuration, the maximum allowable thickness for the combination of the uncompressed padding and the fabric is 5mm. Additionally, it is noted that the fabric itself can contribute a maximum measured thickness of 1mm on each side of the padding.

Midi Olympique received confirmation of this from Jean-Baptiste Grisoli, a former doctor for France Rugby.

“Yes, carbon fiber masks are prohibited, but you can request an exemption for other materials,” he said.

France is expected to face South Africa in the quarter-finals of the tournament unless there is an upset in the latter stages of Pool A or B.

The Springboks suffered a 13-8 defeat at the hands of Ireland on Saturday.

Bengals Bounce Back: Win Their First Game Of The Season

The Cincinnati Bengals powered through in their important clash against the Rams on Monday night.

The Bengals have had a rough start to their season, with their win against the Rams coming after two losses in their opening two fixtures of the 2023-2024 NFL season.

The Rams, who over the trade window made some unexpected trades, were overlooked as contenders for this season but managed to prove their mettle in a Week 1 win against the Seahawks.

Bengals Baited By Rams Attitude

(Credits Michael Conroy/AP)

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who has been battling with a calf injury since the summer, was baited into making mistakes downfield by the Rams, who played with a fearless attitude throughout the game.

The Rams forced Burrow into making errors, reducing his trademark deep throws, which is a key feature of the Bengals’ offense.

Despite his calf injury, Burrow returned to the field, showing his mental fortitude and helping his team win their first game of what has been a rough start to the season. Chase and Higgins supported Burrow in making crucial plays. The return of Burrow may be the key to helping the Bengals get back on track following two losses in the first two game weeks of the season.

The Bengals’ offense struggled in the first half, averaging 3.8 yards gained per play. They were held back with false starts on third down, stalling multiple drives.

Burrow, who is usually very accurate, completed only 54.8% of his passes in the first half, a stark contrast from his lofty standards.

The Bengals failed to go downfield on a consistent basis through their receivers, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

Matthew Stafford Struggles

The Bengals were kept in the game due to the Rams own quarterback, Matthew Stafford, struggling to make plays despite the immense support given by a resolute Rams’ defense.

Stafford was sacked six times and threw two interceptions, completing just 18 of 33 pass attempts for 269 yards and just a singular touchdown.

The Rams were excellent in their playmaking in the first half but failed to take advantage, especially in the red zone.

Stafford’s interceptions proved costly, as they allowed the Bengals to take the lead in the second half.

The Rams now face pressure to win their upcoming games against the Colts, Eagles, and Cardinals.

Are Bengals Ready To Be Considered As Super Bowl Contenders?

With their victory over the Rams, the Bengals now seemed to have returned into the position of being considered contenders for the Super Bowl.

They were able to bounce back from a 0-2 start last season and reach the AFC Final, which has given them the confidence they need.

With a dynamic offense and a steady defense, the Bengals have put themselves in a position to be considered favorites for the AFC title, with stiff competition coming from the Chiefs, Dolphins, Bills, and Ravens.

With their losing start now behind them, the Bengals now look to reach the top, just as many had predicted before their poor start to the season.

Wallabies Exposed the Australian Rugby Union

The Scotland coach, Gregor Townsend, says he expects their meeting with Ireland in Paris on Saturday week to be a “straight shootout” for a World Cup quarter-final place.

Townsend’s team dispatched Tonga at the Stade de Nice on Sunday, securing an attacking bonus point by half-time in a 45-17 win featuring seven different try-scorers.

Getting another bonus point success was the next target on Scot’s qualification, this time against Romania in Lille on Saturday. But Romania has been beaten 82-8 by Ireland and 76-0 by South Africa.

Townsend’s comments on the Scotland team

The head coach is confident of optimizing their overall chances and setting up a high-stakes clash against Ireland (ranked number 1) a week later.

“The fact South Africa picked up a bonus point [in Saturday’s defeat by Ireland] does mean it’s a straight shootout between us and Ireland if South Africa pick up five points against Tonga,” Townsend said.

If they do, they’ll get to 15 points, and we and Ireland are competing to get to 14 points unless we win with bonus points [against Ireland].

“We have to get to 10 points [against Romania] to make sure it becomes a shootout between us and them … If we were to win that Ireland game by more than seven points, we get through to the quarter-finals. It’s as straightforward as that, but when we’re playing the No. 1 team in the world in two weeks’ time, we know it’s going to be a difficult challenge.”

Scotland were obliged to wait to return to action following the opening defeat by South Africa, and the head coach said he was pleased with the effort of his players against the Tongans.

“It was a different Test match; we had to front up physically, and we did that,” Townsend said. “We had a platform there to score more points, but we’ve got to be very happy with a 45-point win, having not played for two weeks, and when we know we have to do it the hard way to get out of this group.”

Townsend shares an emotional moment with McInally

Townsend also had an emotional moment in the changing room on Sunday with Stuart McInally, the veteran hooker, as he had a neck injury during the training, which forced him out of the tournament.

Glasgow’s Johnny Matthews will replace the 33-year-old McInally, who is retiring to pursue a career as an airline pilot.

“He got a presentation in the changing room from the players, and Grant Gilchrist gave him a fantastic speech,” Townsend said. “It’s a very emotional time for all of us … we all thought this would be a great way for him to end his career, coming out and getting his 50th cap. That was something he deserved and had earned, given what he had put into that jersey over his career … It’s just bad luck.”

At the Hard Rock Stadium, cheers of “Three more points!” could be heard during Miami’s final drive. With less than a minute left, the Miami Dolphins had possession of the ball inside the Denver Broncos’ 30-yard line and were just three points away from breaking the single-game scoring record for the NFL.

Tua Tagovailoa MVP performance: Leading the lines for the Dolphins

Tua Tagovailoa was just one short of Ryan Tannehill’s team record for consecutive completions to start the game. He ended the match with 23 of 26 for 309 yards and four touchdowns.

Running back Raheem Mostert had 13 carries for 82 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 60 yards and a touchdown. Hill caught nine passes for 157 years and a touchdown.

Rookie Achane had 18 carries for 203 yards and two touchdowns, and he had four catches for 30 yards and two touchdowns.

Sean Payton, the head coach of the Denver Broncos, called the game “embarrassing” and “tough to watch” after it ended.

“Look, it would be one thing to say, ‘Hey, we’re going to get on to the next game,’ but we have to watch that tape, and so tomorrow will be tough for a lot of players – tough for us, too, as coaches,” Payton quotes.
