Premier League icon Cesc Fabregas has identified the ideal candidate to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Klopp recently announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, concluding a remarkable tenure that included winning both the Premier League and the Champions League.
While names like Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim, and Zinedine Zidane are rumored to be on Liverpool’s shortlist, Fabregas, known for his time at Arsenal and Chelsea, has thrown his support behind compatriot Xabi Alonso for the managerial role.
Speaking on BBC’s Planet Premier League podcast via Metro, Fabregas highlighted Alonso’s intelligence and familiarity with Liverpool’s standards, praising his coaching acumen and adaptability. He emphasized Alonso’s clear ideas, youthfulness, stability, and suitable personality, making him a strong candidate to lead Liverpool next season.
Alonso, who spent five successful seasons at Liverpool and played a pivotal role in their iconic 2005 Champions League triumph, is currently making waves in management at Bayer Leverkusen, leading them to the top of the Bundesliga.
