Defensive end Chase Young has officially joined the Saints, eager to embark on a new chapter and elevate his performance with his new team.
Initially selected as the second overall pick in the 2020 draft by Washington, Young quickly made an impact, securing 7.5 sacks and earning defensive Rookie of the Year honors. However, his trajectory was disrupted by a torn ACL, which sidelined him for a significant portion of the 2022 season as well.
Despite facing setbacks, Young managed to return to form last year, contributing 7.5 sacks while splitting time between the Commanders and the 49ers.
Reflecting on his journey, Young acknowledged the challenges posed by his injuries but remains optimistic about his potential for growth.
“I feel like in every area of my game, I can grow,” Young remarked, emphasizing his ongoing development as a young player in the league. “I’m still on that journey to become the best player I can be.”
