Chelsea’s new manager is focusing on his team despite news about a power struggle among the club’s owners.

Enzo Maresca mentioned on Friday that he has talked with both Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali since the season began, despite reports that the ownership groups are considering buying each other out.

“I am speaking with both. There is not any problem at all, and as I said my focus is about the pitch because it’s the only thing I can control,” said the Italian manager before his team’s game against Bournemouth.

It has been a busy two years at Stamford Bridge since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital bought the club from Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for $3.2 billion. Eghbali is the co-founder of Clearlake.

Reports suggest that the American owners are having disagreements about the club’s direction. Chelsea has spent about $1.3 billion on more than 30 players across five transfer windows, but the results have been underwhelming.

At the transfer deadline, Chelsea added another winger, Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, on a one-year loan with a commitment to purchase him next year.

“If I spend my energy on something else, I think it’s not worth it, so my focus is just on tomorrow’s game,” Maresca said. “The other things — they are things that I cannot control.”
