Chelsea star Enzo Fernández expressed his frustration at a Liverpool fan while making his way to collect his Carabao Cup runners-up medal at Wembley on Sunday. Following Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Chelsea, a video surfaced on social media showing a teary-eyed Fernandez reacting to comments from the stands.
A Liverpool supporter can be heard saying “unlucky lad” to Fernandez, prompting a reaction from the Argentine. However, Fernandez was quickly restrained by teammate Jimi Tauriainen before any altercation could occur.
Before the final, Fernandez had expressed his eagerness to compete against Liverpool, emphasizing the importance of winning trophies with Chelsea.
He stated, “This is why I joined Chelsea… I want to keep winning things in my career.”
Additionally, Fernandez highlighted the significance of winning the Carabao Cup, not just for himself but for the entire team, acknowledging the challenges they had faced in the past 18 months.
Despite playing the entire match, Fernandez was unable to capitalize on a scoring opportunity in the second half.
