Chennedy Carter scored 34 points, while Angel Reese achieved her 16th double-double in 17 games with 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Chicago Sky defeated the Las Vegas Aces 93-85 on Tuesday night.

Chicago held a 42-21 lead midway through the second quarter and maintained control until the Aces took their first lead of the game, 72-71, after Megan Gustafson’s corner 3-pointer with 8:16 left in the fourth quarter.

Carter reclaimed the lead for Chicago, 80-79, with a basket and drew a foul with 3:23 remaining. Although she missed the free throw, Chicago secured the offensive rebound, and Carter scored again to extend their lead to three points. Carter added baskets on the next two possessions to make it 86-81.

Reese secured her double-double with 1:32 left by grabbing a rebound and scoring for an 88-81 lead. Chicago made 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Carter shot 14 of 24 from the field and made 6 of 7 free throws, just one point shy of tying her career-high set during her rookie season in 2020. Marina Mabrey contributed 15 points for Chicago (10-14).

A’ja Wilson led Las Vegas (16-8) with 28 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks, and three steals, marking her sixth consecutive game this season with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. Wilson also moved into third place in franchise history for career steals. Tiffany Hayes added 19 points off the bench, and Jackie Young scored 17 points, with 11 coming in the second quarter.

Carter started the game strong, making her first five shots and scoring 14 points in the first quarter, while Las Vegas struggled with 12 points on 5-of-13 shooting.

Chicago took a 44-37 lead into halftime after Carter’s basket with 25 seconds left in the second quarter. Mabrey’s three-point play late in the third quarter gave Chicago a 69-56 advantage, but the Aces closed the quarter on a 7-0 run, capped by a jumper from Kelsey Plum just before the buzzer.
