The 49ers are getting their offensive lineup back in shape for next Monday’s game against the Jets.
Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has signed a new contract with the team, and left tackle Trent Williams is close to finalizing his own deal, so the two major storylines from the summer are nearing resolution. The team’s key running back is also on track to return to action.
Running back Christian McCaffrey, who has been out with a calf injury since early in training camp, is expected to practice on Tuesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The team will not release an injury report with details on his participation until Thursday, but his return to practice is a positive sign for his availability for the opener.
The summer hasn’t been without its challenges for the team, but things are looking promising as the 49ers prepare to have their full roster ready for their push to get back to the Super Bowl.
