Cincinnati Reds pitcher Brandon Williamson left Tuesday night’s game against Atlanta due to a strained left elbow.
Williamson left after Michael Harris II fouled off a 2-1 pitch with one out in the second inning. The left-handed pitcher bent over for a moment near the mound before being replaced by Fernando Cruz.
The 26-year-old Williamson allowed three runs and three hits in his time on the mound. He gave up home runs to Harris and Matt Olson in the first inning.
Williamson, who was picked in the second round of the 2019 amateur draft, made his first major league start of the season on September 1. He had previously injured his shoulder during spring training.
He was traded to Cincinnati in March 2022, in a deal that sent Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suárez to Seattle.
