Browns running back Nick Chubb has completed another week of practice as he works his way back from a serious knee injury. However, he will not be playing in Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
Chubb has taken part in practice this week, but in a limited way.
“I’m not going to get into how close he is or those details, other than to say he’s improving every day,” head coach Kevin Stefanski said during his press conference on Friday.
“Nick has the right mindset, and we’re supporting him as he takes it day by day. We’re focused on what he wants to achieve, whether it’s in practice, meetings, or the weight room. He’s really keeping a day-by-day attitude.”
Chubb hurt his knee in Week 2 of last season after rushing for 170 yards on 28 carries.
On a positive note for Cleveland’s offensive line, tackle Jack Conklin is expected to play on Sunday, although Stefanski didn’t provide details about his specific role.
Rookie defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. will also be activated for the game after completing his suspension.
Cornerback Denzel Ward (hamstring) participated in Friday’s practice, but Stefanski mentioned they need to see how he feels afterward. Ward did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday and is questionable for the game.
