Mike Clevinger teamed up with three relievers to limit the Cleveland Guardians to just four hits, securing a 3-1 victory for the Chicago White Sox on Saturday night. This win marked their season-high fourth consecutive win.

Clevinger, in his second start of the season, allowed only one run in 4 2/3 innings. The right-hander, who joined Chicago on a one-year deal, showcased his skills with five strikeouts and no walks.

Following Clevinger’s solid performance, the bullpen took charge. Tim Hill, Jared Shuster, and John Brebbia combined for 4 1/3 innings without allowing a hit.

Shuster recorded six outs before Brebbia closed out the ninth inning, earning his first save since June 8, 2018, for St. Louis.

Manager Pedro Grifol praised the team’s resilience, highlighting their continuous effort and teamwork. Despite a rough start to the season, the White Sox have shown improvement, now standing at 9-6 since their initial struggles.

Clevinger also noted feeling more comfortable and in sync compared to his previous outing, crediting adjustments made between starts based on biomechanical feedback.
