Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was honored with the Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award at the BCCI Awards 2025 in Mumbai. The award was presented by ICC Chairman Jay Shah at the annual ‘Naman Awards’ ceremony.
Tendulkar, widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, holds the records for the most runs in Test and ODI cricket, along with the unparalleled milestone of 100 international centuries. His contributions to Indian and world cricket remain unmatched, making him a deserving recipient of this prestigious honor.
Tendulkar Urges Young Cricketers to Stay Focused and Disciplined
During his speech at the event, Tendulkar addressed young cricketers, urging them to remain focused and avoid distractions that could hinder their careers. He emphasized the importance of appreciating the opportunities they have and acting responsibly to uphold the sport’s reputation.
“Without cricket, none of us would be here today. It has been the greatest gift of life,” he remarked. He also advised players to maintain their commitment and discipline, stating that losing focus could gradually lead to setbacks in their game and career. Tendulkar encouraged the younger generation to make the most of their time in cricket, as they would only realize its true value once their playing days were over.

From 1989 to 2013, Tendulkar dominated international cricket with his exceptional skills and consistency. At just 16 years old, he made his Test debut on November 15, 1989, followed by his ODI debut on December 18, 1989.
Over his 664 international appearances, he amassed 34,357 runs at an average of 48.52, securing 100 centuries and 164 half-centuries—records that remain untouched. He was the first cricketer to score a double century in ODIs and played a record 200 Test matches, setting new benchmarks in the sport. His impact on Indian cricket inspired countless aspiring players.

Following the award ceremony, Tendulkar took to social media to express his gratitude. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, “Deeply honored to receive the Col.
