Owner Jerry Jones initially pledged to go “all-in” for the 2024 season, only to retract his statement shortly afterward.
Despite his declaration at the Senior Bowl, where he emphasized a departure from their usual offseason approach, Jones backtracked on his commitment during the Scouting Combine. Quarterback Dak Prescott, reacting to Jones’ remarks, expressed curiosity about the true intentions behind the “all-in” declaration.
However, the Cowboys’ actions suggest they are not fully committed to such an approach, particularly given their cap constraints.
Their first priority should be addressing Prescott’s hefty $59.4 million cap hit for 2024, the final year of his contract. Prescott himself is confident about resolving this offseason, recognizing the importance of reducing his cap number for the team’s financial flexibility.
