Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks will miss the game against the Steelers on Sunday night and at least three more games after that.
The Cowboys announced on Saturday that Cooks has been placed on injured reserve. He developed an infection in his knee following a recent procedure, and earlier this week, the team hoped he would only be out for one game.
Saturday’s update shows that won’t happen, which means other wide receivers like Jalen Tolbert, KeVontae Turpin, Jalen Brooks, and Ryan Flournoy will need to step up in the coming weeks.
In a related move, the Cowboys signed linebacker Nick Vigil to the 53-man roster. They also moved cornerback Amani Oruwariye and defensive end Carl Lawson up from the practice squad. Running back Dalvin Cook was not called up and is still waiting to make his debut with the Cowboys.
