Ricciardo had a tough time at Suzuka, crashing out early in the race while fighting with Stroll and Albon. However, he got the chance to improve things by participating in a Pirelli tire test after the race.

Looking ahead to 2025, Pirelli stayed back at Suzuka to conduct thorough testing for new dry-weather tire compounds and constructions. They aim to make tires that don’t overheat as much during races.

RB and Sauber stayed back for extra testing after the race weekend. They used current-spec cars but couldn’t test new configurations or parts.

Ricciardo drove on Tuesday, followed by Tsunoda on Wednesday for RB, while Bottas drove for Sauber both days. They tested the proposed 2025 tires, but none of them are sure to use them next season.

Rain in the morning allowed Pirelli to test new intermediates and full wets. They’re trying to solve overheating issues seen in slick tires.

Ricciardo completed 106 laps, including 16 in the wet. Bottas did 133 laps, 17 in the wet, and Tsunoda did 115 laps. They gathered a lot of testing data.

Pirelli director Isola thanked the teams and drivers for their support during the test. They collected a lot of data to work on more durable tires and new compounds to reduce overheating. Pirelli’s next tests will be in May in France and June in Italy.
