Former Liverpool midfielder turned television pundit Danny Murphy has advised against considering Thomas Tuchel as a potential successor to Jürgen Klopp at the Merseyside club. Murphy expressed his belief that Tuchel’s polarizing nature makes him unsuitable for the role at Anfield.

Additionally, Murphy suggested that Bayern Munich’s decision to part ways with the former Chelsea manager at the end of the season is unsurprising. He attributed Tuchel’s previous success in securing the Bundesliga title to Borussia Dortmund’s last-minute stumble, rather than Bayern Munich’s consistent performance.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Murphy remarked:

“No. He doesn’t fit them. He’s too divisive. He’s not a Liverpool manager. Not for me.

Thomas Tuchel

It’s not a surprise to me. Let’s be honest, Bayern Munich should have lost the title to Borussia Dortmund last season – they ended up winning it on the final day. So things haven’t been great there for a while.”

As managerial changes loom on the horizon, with Klopp set to depart Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are also parting ways with Thomas Tuchel and Xavi Hernandez, respectively.

Various candidates have been linked with the impending vacancy at Liverpool, with Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso reportedly leading the race. However, Bayern Munich is also reportedly considering Alonso as Tuchel’s potential replacement.
