The Browns might have one of their important offensive players back for Week 5.

Cleveland is marking tight end David Njoku as questionable for Sunday’s game against Washington.

Njoku hasn’t played since Week 1 due to an ankle injury. He was limited in practice on Wednesday but didn’t participate on Thursday. Head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that the plan was for him to work on Wednesday and Friday, while the team keeps an eye on his recovery.

Njoku made four catches for 44 yards in the season-opening loss to Dallas. He had a great season in 2023, with 81 catches for 882 yards and six touchdowns.

Running back Nick Chubb (knee) had his 21-day practice window opened earlier this week, but he will not be activated for Sunday’s game. The same is true for running back Nyheim Hines (knee). Both players have been limited in practice this week.

According to Ashley Bastock of Cleveland.com, Stefanski mentioned that Chubb “looks like himself to me” during practice this week.

Cleveland has also ruled out linebacker Jordan Hicks (ribs, elbow, triceps), offensive tackle James Hudson (shoulder), and defensive end Alex Wright (triceps). Wright is expected to be placed on injured reserve, as he will miss the rest of the 2024 season.

Offensive tackle Jack Conklin (hamstring), offensive tackle Jedrick Wills (knee), running back Pierre Strong (hamstring), and offensive lineman Michael Dunn (illness) are all listed as questionable.
