Mie Hoejlund scored five goals as Denmark defeated Sweden 30-25 to win the bronze medal in women’s handball at the Paris Olympics on Saturday.

This was Denmark’s first Olympic handball medal since they won their third consecutive gold medal at the 2004 Athens Games.

After the match, Sweden’s goalkeeper Johanna Bundsen, who had a tough game and saved only two of 17 shots, was comforted by her teammates. Sweden’s other goalie, Evelina Eriksson, managed to save nine of 24 shots.

Later on Saturday, France was scheduled to defend its title against Norway, which has won the Olympic gold twice, with its last win in 2012.

Norway, a strong handball team, had to settle for bronze at the 2016 Rio Games and at the Tokyo Games three years ago, where France won its first women’s handball title.
