Manchester City is said to have reached an agreement with Girona to secure the signing of Savio after the season. Renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has indicated that the young Brazilian is committed to finishing the season strongly with Girona.
According to Romano, despite interest from other English and German clubs, Girona has settled on a deal with City for the player. It’s worth noting that the City Football Group holds full ownership of Manchester City and holds a 47% stake (majority ownership) in Girona.
Romano further stated that the necessary paperwork will be finalized in the coming days, paving the way for the versatile attacker to join Pep Guardiola’s squad in the summer. Forbes has reported that Barcelona had also shown interest in the 19-year-old Brazilian.
Savio was initially acquired by the City Football Group from Atletico Mineiro in the summer of 2022. He was initially assigned to Troyes, another club under the CFG umbrella.
Reports suggest that Troyes continues to be the primary club for Savio, with Girona serving as a loan destination for the player. Nonetheless, the ownership of Savio’s football services appears to lie with the CFG.
Regarding his performances on the field, Savio has contributed seven goals and as many assists in 27 appearances for Girona this season. He exhibits versatility by being capable of playing on either wing and also operating as a No. 10.
