When the Jaguars added wide receiver Gabe Davis to their team last month, many people talked about how he would improve their passing game.
Davis has been known for his ability to make big plays, with an average of 16.7 yards per catch and 27 touchdown catches since he joined the league in 2024. Even in playoff games, he has shown his talent with an average of 21.5 yards per catch and six touchdowns.
However, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson sees Davis as more than just someone who catches deep passes.
Pederson believes that Davis can also contribute to the running game by blocking and running the ball himself. He describes Davis as a versatile player who can do many things well, comparing him to a Swiss Army knife because of his various skills.
While Davis will likely be expected to step up in the absence of Calvin Ridley, who left the team recently, it seems that Pederson has big plans for him beyond just filling Ridley’s role.
