Drew McIntyre delivered a strong message on the recent episode of WWE Monday Night RAW following his victory over Cody Rhodes in a singles match.
The Scottish Warrior faced off against The American Nightmare in the opening bout of the show, emerging victorious with a little help from The Bloodline’s interference. This marked the first time Cody had been defeated via pinfall since WrestleMania 39 and the first time he had been pinned on a WWE TV show since April 2016.
After the match, Drew McIntyre was interviewed backstage, where he reflected on the events of the match, particularly the interference by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.
He then boldly declared himself as a “future world champion.”
“People may label me a hypocrite, but they don’t understand my mindset when I saw Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa. I cannot afford to dwell on that. My focus is on saving RAW, then SmackDown, and finally Australia. I am the true backbone of WWE. Your future world champion,” stated Drew.
Drew McIntyre is set to compete against five other superstars inside the Elimination Chamber in Australia this Saturday. The victor of the match will earn the opportunity to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40.
