The England and Wales Cricket Board announced on Tuesday a tour to New Zealand for three test matches starting in Christchurch on November 28th.
Following the first match at Hagley Oval, the tour will continue to the North Island for tests in Wellington from December 6th to 10th and in Hamilton from December 14th to 18th.
Last year, in February and March, the test teams faced off in a two-match series. They split the series after England was close to a 2-0 victory when skipper Ben Stokes enforced the follow-on. New Zealand won the second test by one run, making them only the fourth team in history to win a test after following on after England won the first by 267 runs.
These three matches at the end of the year are part of the World Test Championship, which New Zealand won in its first edition before losing the title to Australia.
India is currently leading the WTC standings, with Australia in second place and New Zealand in third. England is in ninth place before the upcoming home series against West Indies and Sri Lanka.
The top two teams in the standings will compete in a final at Lord’s in 2025.
