Manchester United legend Dimitar Berbatov has expressed confidence in his former team’s ability to secure a 3-1 victory over Luton Town in their upcoming Premier League encounter at Kenilworth Road on Sunday, February 18.
Despite a challenging start to the season, under the leadership of Erik ten Hag, Manchester United has showcased remarkable form lately, clinching victories in their last three league matches. Currently occupying the sixth spot in the league table with 41 points from 24 games, they trail fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur by six points.
Meanwhile, Luton Town finds themselves positioned 17th, tallying just 20 points. Nevertheless, they have demonstrated their capability to challenge top-tier opponents. In their previous Premier League encounter, Manchester United secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Luton at home on November 11, 2023.
Despite the potential challenges posed by Luton, Manchester United holds a statistical advantage. With a superior head-to-head record and an unbeaten streak of four away games, they appear well-prepared for the upcoming clash.
Berbatov shared his prediction, stating (via METRO):
“Luton can be a tough place to go. United are going there in good form with youth and experience. The youth is scoring goals and attacking. As long as United don’t let themselves be bullied by Luton, especially on set-pieces, then United have enough quality to outsmart them. So I’ll go for United to win. United need to win to move closer to the top four.”
