Erick Fedde had an impressive performance against his former team, pitching seven excellent innings as the Chicago White Sox secured a 4-0 victory over the Washington Nationals in a doubleheader split on Tuesday night.

Fedde allowed only three hits, striking out six batters and walking none. He was drafted by Washington in 2014 and played for the Nationals for six seasons before joining the White Sox.

“I tried not to think too much about it all week,” Fedde said. “Every time I pitch, I want to do well. But, of course, it’s always in the back of your mind. I’m glad it turned out the way I wanted it to.”

Andrew Vaughn contributed to the White Sox’s win with a three-run home run and a solo homer. This victory improved the White Sox’s record to 10-8 since their rough start to the season with a 3-22 record.

In the first game, Washington emerged victorious with a 6-3 win. Keibert Ruiz and Trey Lipscomb each drove in a run during the Nationals’ three-run eighth inning.

Joey Meneses had an outstanding performance in the first game, going 4 for 4 and bringing in two runs for Washington. Lipscomb also contributed with three hits and three stolen bases.

Derek Law earned the win, and Kyle Finnegan secured the save for Washington in the first game.

The doubleheader was scheduled due to Monday’s rain postponement. Vaughn hit his second homer of the season in the second game, helping the White Sox secure their victory with a home run in the third inning and another in the eighth.
