Jason Kelce has officially joined ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” team. ESPN revealed on Tuesday that Kelce signed a multiyear deal during a presentation in New York. He will also be involved in ESPN’s coverage during Super Bowl week.
Kelce is stepping in for Robert Griffin III, who will stay with the network as a college football analyst. Last season, Scott Van Pelt became the host of the “Monday Night Football” pregame show, joined by analysts Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark.
The regular-season opener for “Monday Night Football” is set for Sept. 9, with the San Francisco 49ers hosting the New York Jets.
Having played 13 seasons with the Eagles, Kelce was highly sought after by networks for the upcoming season. He previously participated in the NFL Broadcasting and Media Workshop, previously known as the “Broadcast Bootcamp.”
Kelce is expected to continue co-hosting his “New Heights” podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs.
