Understandably, Isla expressed disappointment over this decision. Given her undeniable talent, the move appears perplexing. Selecting just one member of the team seems unconventional, leading to Isla’s evident frustration.
There’s a risk this decision could backfire on Nick, potentially prompting Isla to consider leaving due to feeling mistreated. The lack of screen time for The Unholy Union further supports this sentiment. Should Isla decide to leave, Adam Pearce would likely be eager to sign her, potentially leading to a tag team shakeup if her partner, Alba, follows suit.
Meanwhile, in a significant development on Friday Night SmackDown, the women’s tag team scene took the spotlight with a title match that saw new champions crowned. The reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance defended their titles against The Kabuki Warriors, Asuka and Kairi Sane, who aimed to reclaim the gold.
In a thrilling match, The Kabuki Warriors emerged victorious, capturing the titles for the first time in nearly four years. Asuka and Kairi celebrated their victory alongside their Damage CTRL stablemates, IYO SKY, Dakota Kai, and Bayley.
With SKY already holding a title, Bayley’s potential victory in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble Match could further solidify the stable’s dominance. If Bayley secures the win, she could then challenge Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania, aiming to bring the last remaining main roster title to Damage CTRL and cement their legacy.
