New York Knicks’ point guard Jalen Brunson narrowly missed out on securing a starting position for the 2024 Eastern Conference All-Star team, much to the disappointment of many fans. However, teammate Josh Hart took a more lighthearted approach to the news.
Despite being viewed as a strong contender for a starting spot, Brunson ultimately landed in third place among East guards in All-Star voting, with Tyrese Haliburton and Damian Lillard clinching the starting positions. Lillard’s selection marked his eighth All-Star appearance and first as a starter in his 12-year career.
When asked about Brunson’s snub, Hart humorously quipped, “Yeah. F**kin’ loser,” in a sarcastic manner. The jesting remark highlights the close friendship between the two players, who have been teammates since their college days at Villanova.
Their playful banter has continued during their time together with the Knicks, reflecting the camaraderie within the team.
Earlier in the day, Hart had tweeted his support for Brunson, jokingly threatening to “riot” if his friend wasn’t named an All-Star starter. This shows Hart’s genuine desire to see Brunson succeed and earn his first All-Star nod.
Despite missing out on a starting spot, Brunson still has a strong chance of being selected as an East All-Star reserve when the roster is announced next Thursday.
