Chris Flexen pitched well for six innings, while Paul DeJong hit another home run as the Chicago White Sox avoided being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays, winning 4-1 on Wednesday night.

The White Sox, who currently have the worst record in the American League, improved to 9-28 for the season and won the series against the Rays 4-2. They had previously swept the Rays in a three-game series at home from April 26-28.

Chicago’s manager, Pedro Grifol, praised the team’s performance, highlighting clean play and timely hitting along with strong pitching.

Flexen, who now has a record of 2-3, struck out eight batters while allowing just one run and three hits. He had already performed well against the Rays on April 26, pitching five scoreless innings in a 9-4 victory.
