Atlético Madrid’s forward Memphis Depay has been included in the Netherlands squad for the upcoming friendlies against Scotland and Germany

Following his decisive goal for Atlético Madrid in the Champions League, striker Memphis Depay returns to the Netherlands squad after a year-long absence due to injuries.

Depay, who boasts 44 goals in 88 international appearances, is second only to Robin van Persie’s 50 goals for Oranje.

Joining Depay in his comeback is midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, the former Liverpool standout now plying his trade for Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League. With 90 international caps, Wijnaldum brings invaluable experience to the squad.

The 26-player roster has been unveiled for upcoming friendlies against Scotland and Germany, serving as preparation for the European Championship in Germany this summer.

Debuting in Ronald Koeman’s squad alongside the seasoned veterans is Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber.

Despite Ajax’s struggles in the Eredivisie and injuries to key players, they contribute only one player to the squad in the form of striker Brian Brobbey.

The Netherlands will face Scotland on March 22 in Amsterdam before traveling to Frankfurt to take on Germany four days later.
