Giovanni Fabbian’s goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time secured a narrow 1-0 victory for Bologna against Empoli in Serie A on Friday.

Despite dominating the game, visiting Bologna struggled to capitalize on their pressure until the dying moments. Substitute Fabbian capitalized on a rebound, converting after Empoli goalkeeper Elia Caprile failed to hold onto a powerful shot from Riccardo Calafiori.

The result marked a return to the winning column for Bologna, who had suffered a defeat against league leaders Inter Milan last week following a string of six consecutive victories.

With this win, Bologna solidified their hold on fourth place in the standings, trailing Juventus by four points and leading Roma by six.

Meanwhile, Empoli remained in a precarious position, sitting just one point above the relegation zone in the league table. Their next challenge will be against Inter.
