Genoa’s Serie A home game against Juventus will be held without fans on Saturday, following crowd issues during the Italian Cup derby just three days earlier.

The decision made on Friday was in response to violent confrontations between Genoa and Sampdoria fans, resulting in over 50 injuries, including 41 police officers who were trying to manage the situation.

Most of the chaos occurred after the match, which Sampdoria won in a penalty shootout.

As a result of the violence, no spectators will be allowed at Genoa’s stadium on Saturday.

Sampdoria is likely to receive a similar penalty for their next home game against Juve Stabia on October 4.
