Injured Real Madrid goalkeeper Courtois will be absent for the Champions League match

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will not play in Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Lille on Wednesday due to a muscle injury.

After tests on Monday, Madrid confirmed that Courtois has an abductor injury in his left leg.

He got hurt during the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Spanish league derby on Sunday, where he played the whole match at Metropolitano Stadium.

Madrid started their Champions League title defense with a 3-1 win against Stuttgart at home.

Kylian Mbappé, who missed the derby due to a hamstring injury, is also part of Madrid’s squad.
