Edgar’s illustrious UFC career spanned from 2007 to 2022, culminating in his final fight in November 2022. Over the course of his tenure, he compiled an impressive record of 24 wins and 11 losses, including seven victories by knockout.

Notably, Edgar held the lightweight title from 2010 to 2012, securing the championship by defeating the legendary BJ Penn on two occasions. His reign as lightweight champion was concluded in 2012 following a defeat to Benson Henderson.

While predominantly competing in the lightweight division, Edgar transitioned to featherweight in the latter part of his career, achieving notable success despite falling short of claiming the featherweight title.

Standing at a modest 5-foot-6, Edgar’s athleticism and skill set were consistently remarkable.

Recognizing Edgar’s exceptional contributions to the sport, UFC CEO Dana White remarked, “Frankie Edgar is one of the greatest athletes in UFC history.

Frankie had an amazing career and consistently fought the best athletes in the world across multiple weight classes for more than 15 years. He is a legend, and it will be an honor to induct him into the UFC Hall of Fame.”

Edgar’s legacy in the lightweight division includes three successful title defenses, a feat equaled by Khabib Nurmagomedov, Benson Henderson, and BJ Penn.

Furthermore, he holds the second-longest total fight time in UFC history, clocking in at an impressive 7 hours, 57 minutes, and 10 seconds, and shares the second position in post-fight bonuses with a total of eight.

Without a doubt, Frankie Edgar’s remarkable career has secured his well-deserved place in the UFC Hall of Fame.
