The Portland Trail Blazers lost their 10th game in a row, but it was close. Deandre Ayton missed a shot at the buzzer, and the Orlando Magic won 104-103 on Monday night.
Franz Wagner scored 20 points, Wendell Carter Jr. had 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Magic are in a close race for the playoffs, sitting fifth in the East with seven games left.
Jalen Suggs, who scored Orlando’s final points from the foul line, said, “We need to be better, but we got a win.”
The Blazers, coming off a 60-point loss to Miami, fought back in the second half. Ayton missed a shot at the buzzer after a timeout, giving Orlando the win.
Delano Banton scored 26 points off the bench for Portland, and Scoot Henderson had 13 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.
Orlando had a big lead in the third quarter, but the Blazers rallied back. However, the Magic held on for the win. Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said, “This is a win we’re going to learn from.”
