Freddie Haggerty draws inspiration from the challenge of being the brother of double ONE world champion Jonathan Haggerty, viewing it as an additional driving force to excel in martial arts. Embracing this pressure, he sees himself as a formidable fighter determined to showcase his abilities on the global stage.

Transitioning into ONE Championship alongside his brother, Freddie marked his promotional debut triumphantly at ONE Friday Fights 49 by securing a knockout victory against Thai competitor Dankalong Sor Dechapan in their straw weight Muay Thai bout.

Reflecting on his journey, Freddie acknowledges the high expectations associated with being Jonathan’s sibling. Yet, rather than being daunted by this prospect, he sees it as an opportunity to push himself further. He believes that the pressure fuels his determination to succeed, stating:

“There’s always going to be pressure being Jonathan’s little brother. There are such big expectations, but I don’t mind a bit of pressure. It makes me work harder because I’ve got a lot more to prove than other people, which makes me a lot more dangerous.”
