The Washington Commanders faced a frustrating 14-7 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday in a game that featured a total of 18 punts, the most in a game this season. The Commanders’ offense struggled, managing a 1-for-15 conversion rate on third downs and going 1-for-3 in the red zone.
Following the loss, defensive tackle Jonathan Allen was asked for his assessment of the game. He candidly responded, “They whooped our ass. Plain and simple. Gotta be better.”
However, when asked if it gets frustrating, Allen’s tone escalated as he vented his frustration, saying, “F–k yes it does. I’m f—–g tired of this shit. F—–g tired of this bullshit. It’s been seven f—–g years of the same shit. I’m tired of this shit.”
When asked about turning the season around, Allen emphasized the need to refocus and prepare for the upcoming game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The loss dropped the Commanders to a 3-4 record for the season, including an 0-2 record in the division. Washington fans share Allen’s frustration, as the team hasn’t had a winning season since 2016.
While the Commanders welcomed new owner Josh Harris this offseason, their on-field performance hasn’t seen significant improvements. They’ve gone 1-4 since starting the season 2-0, and head coach Ron Rivera’s record with the team is now 25-30-1.
