Galatasaray scored three goals in the first half to win 4-3 against the Swedish team Elfsborg, while Norway’s Bodø/Glimt secured a late goal to defeat 10-man Braga 2-1 in the Europa League on Wednesday.

Mauro Icardi started the scoring for the Turkish league leaders in the 28th minute. Abdülkerim Bardakcı’s header followed 11 minutes later, which hit Elfsborg goalkeeper Isak Pettersson and went into the net. Barış Alper Yılmaz then made it 3-0 just before halftime.

Elfsborg responded early in the second half with a goal from Niklas Hult during a counterattack, and Michael Baidoo scored a penalty to make it 3-2. However, Yunus Akgün extended Galatasaray’s lead with a great solo goal in the 83rd minute.

Sikou Niakaté scored for Braga in the 64th minute, tying the game after the visitors had taken a 1-0 lead. He was sent off shortly after for a second yellow card.

Both Galatasaray and Bodø/Glimt now have seven points, placing them at the top of the table in this updated competition. There are 16 games scheduled for Thursday, including a match between Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce and Manchester United, the team he led to the 2017 Europa League title.
