After another tough performance against the Broncos on Sunday, the Raiders took quarterback Gardner Minshew out of the game with 1:31 left in the third quarter during their eventual loss.

Minshew completed 12 out of 17 passes for 137 yards, along with one touchdown and two interceptions before being replaced—one of the interceptions was returned 100 yards for a touchdown by Pat Surtain.

After the game, Minshew stated that regardless of what happens next, he will do his best to support the team.

“It is what it is,” Minshew said. “I’ll try to help the team in any way I can. I want to be there for Aidan, sharing what I’ve been seeing and staying positive on the sidelines.

“At the end of the day, no matter what my role is on the team, I’m going to try and help the team however I can. That starts with getting back into the building tomorrow and getting back to work.”

The Raiders have faced challenges on offense during the first five weeks, and after Sunday’s game, coach Pierce mentioned he wasn’t sure who would start against the Steelers in Week 6. Minshew has completed 70.7 percent of his passes for 1,014 yards, with four touchdowns and five interceptions.

In two games, O’Connell has completed 59.4 percent of his throws for 176 yards, with one touchdown and one interception.
