Grayson Allen, a guard for the Phoenix Suns, worsened the sprain in his right ankle during Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. He had to leave the game in the third quarter, raising doubts about his ability to play in the future.

After the injury, Allen had X-rays done on his ankle, just like he did after getting hurt in Game 1. Coach Frank Vogel stated that there is no fracture, but Allen’s status remains day-to-day.

Before the game, Allen was listed as questionable due to his ankle injury. Vogel praised Allen’s determination to play despite the uncertainty.

Allen mentioned that he rolled his ankle quite badly, but with a two-day break before Game 3 in Phoenix on Friday, there’s hope that he can recover in time to play.

The Suns’ offense also struggled in Game 2. The trio of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal didn’t shoot well, partly due to Jaden McDaniels’ relentless defense and Rudy Gobert’s presence in the paint.

Booker improved slightly from Game 1, scoring 20 points, but he also committed six turnovers and six fouls.

Despite some unfavorable calls from the referees, Vogel emphasized that the Timberwolves outplayed the Suns. Allen injured his ankle while defending Mike Conley, attempting to block a shot.

In Game 1, Allen played 25 minutes and scored four points, while in Game 2, he played 17 minutes and scored three points.

Vogel stressed the importance of maintaining emotional stability during the playoffs, especially when facing adversity as a team for the first time.
