The Ironman Pro Series is set to make its European debut in Alcúdia-Mallorca on May 11, attracting around 80 professional triathletes. With two races already completed in the series and the upcoming IM 70.3 North American Championship in St. George, anticipation is high among athletes aiming to secure early season points and prize money.
Among the notable contenders in the men’s field is Gustav Iden of Norway, the 2022 IM World Champion, making his Pro Series debut. He faces stiff competition from Jan Stratmann of Germany, fresh off a second-place finish at Ironman 70.3 Valencia, and Patrick Lange, also from Germany, who currently leads the Pro Series standings. Paul Schuster of Germany, currently in 8th place, is also expected to return to improve his position.
Several athletes will make their Pro Series debut, adding to the excitement of the competition. These include Mathis Margirier of France, Youri Keulen of the Netherlands, Cameron Wurf of Australia, Gregory Barnaby of Italy, Arnaud Guilloux of France, and Bradley Weiss of South Africa. In the women’s field, Emma Pallant-Browne, ranked 18th in the Pro Series standings, aims to repeat her past success after winning the race in 2022. She faces tough competition from Laura Philipp of Germany, who finished fourth at Ironman 70.3 Valencia, as well as Giorgia Priorone of Italy, Ruth Astle, and Lizzie Rayner of Great Britain, all making their Pro Series debut.
